Round Rock Chiropractor, Dr. Eric Murphy

"All the doctors I had seen said I had to have surgery or learn to live with it….."
I was 15 years old playing high school baseball when I got hit between the shoulder blades with the ball. I immediately fell to my knees in pain but after a little while the pain went away so I thought it was better. Boy, was I wrong! Several years later while waiting tables in college the pain came back even stronger than originally. I would walk into a room to take an order and I could feel my spine twist and then an electric like shock would go through my whole body, I would have to leave the room.
I went to to several medical doctors and they gave me muscle relaxers and pain medication that only dulled the pain temporarily and never actually making it completely cease. Finally, I went to the chiropractor. After he did an exam and x-rays he was able to show me on the x-ray where the baseball injury from my youth had caused my spine to shift which was the source of my pain. Gentle chiropractic adjustment were given, my back pain subsided and I started to see improvement.
At that time my major in college was pre-med and I was on the path to be a medical doctor. I was so impressed with chiropractic care that I changed my career course and became a Doctor of Chiropractic. I have never looked back or regretted my decision to not be a medical doctor. I thoroughly love what I do.
I have an under graduate degree in anatomy and went to Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas for my doctorate. I have a total of nine years of college and multiple certifications in healthcare and nutrition.
My Philosphy
My objective is to get the patient through the acute phase of their injury and guide in the direction of wellness. The key component in developing a treatment plan is what do we need to do to, not only, get the patient out of discomfort but to correct and stabilize the underlying spinal misalignment. If you don’t stabilize the spinal distortion then the problem will most likely come back at a later time. My favorite time in practice is when I see a patient that has been through multiple other therapies and has been told they have to have surgery or worse yet live in pain and then once I accept them as a patient and they see their overall health improve it could be more satisfying. I also really enjoy when my patients realize chiropractic care can also help with stomach problems, allergies and other forms of sickness.
On a Personal Note...
I am married to my childhood sweetheart and we have been married over 16 years. We met at church and she is still the love of my life. We have two awesome sons, Chris and Chosen. Chris is 19 years old and loves martial arts and his dream is to fight in the UFC. Chosen is 12 years old, he also does martial arts and collects dragons. His wants to be a chef and a chiropractor, he still has a lot of time to decide. When not taking care of my patients in our Round Rock office, I enjoy spending time camping and fishing with my family. I also spend a lot of time with my friends who I have known since I was 10 years old.
| I get adjusted at least once a week. I also do cardio exercise as well as weight training 3-4 times per week. We try to eat healthy and I don’t drink soda very often. I take nutritional supplements to help maintain a healthy inside. As for vaccinations, I don’t feel the benefit outweighs the risk. Current data show the health risk is to high and they should be carefully considered by parents. Now that I have bored you to tears with all of my personal information lets find out how I can help you with gentle chiropractic care. Give the office a call and talk to Tamara to schedule a consultation to begin your first steps toward a healthier life. | Proud Member Since 2009 |
