Get Moving

The old saying, “Use it or lose it” applies here. Research has shown that bed rest or a sedentary lifestyle can actually slow your recovery.

Brisk Walking

Regular exercise is crucial for countless bodily functions. Aerobic exercise can aid the healing process. That doesn’t mean you have to invest in expensive club memberships or the latest exercise equipment! Something as simple and inexpensive as regular swimming at a community pool or 20 minutes of brisk walking every other day can produce beneficial results.

Lift Your Spirits

As you are able, participate in activities that can safely raise your heart rate and increase your endurance. Park your car in an outlying spot and walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Look for ways to burn calories and remain active. Besides improving your strength and vitality, you’ll enjoy a lift in your spirits as endorphins are released. Need some guidance? Just ask.

Dr. Murphy Asks some important questions of interest to Round Rock residents - Chiropractor Round Rock Dr. Murphy Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
